As concerned parents, Claire and I know the importance of security for our loved ones.
South Africa is a wonderful place to live, our weather and lifestyle is amongst the finest in the world. We however, live in a country that has clear problems with crime and violence. The statistics speak for themselves, around 800 - 1000 children are reported missing every year and around 2000 children are murdered each year. These statistics are unacceptable.
We decided to start our business around child safety as the focal point. Taking the statistics above into account, we believe parents need to be armed with tools to enhance the safety of their children. ID-a-Kid was thus born from our belief. The fact exists that we do not have an Identity Book as youngsters, Claire and I decided to assist South Africans in this regard.
Imagine this scenario:
Your child goes missing
You are in a "high panic" mode
Police ask you for full detail on your child, including photo, height, hair colour, weight, fingerprint data, etc
Now you are Prepared - You reach into your handbag and hand the police officer your Child's ID-a-Kid Complete kit.
When one is in a panic situation, research has shown that there is increased difficulty in verbally giving correct and concise information.
One minute can make all the difference! Parents must react fast when children go missing.
We want every Parent to be Prepared.
